The perfect picnic basket

for a Provencal break

There are a host of delicious things to choose from in Vaucluse to fill your picnic basket.

Start with some whole olives to wake up your taste buds, or some zingy green or salty black olive tapenade spread on a baguette.

Then, enjoy slices of Cavaillon melon (which can also be for dessert) and sweet cherry tomatoes bought at the nearest farmer’s market.

Make sandwiches with Ventoux ham or a fresh goat’s cheese like the classic Banon.

For something sweet to nibble on to finish your meal, try the navette biscuits, whereas Carpentras strawberries, Ventoux cherries, peaches or apricots are a sweet and juicy choice if in season.
