The Luberon Lavender Museum invites you to a wonderful, immersive day exploring the traditional craftsmanship of ‘Made in France’. This special event celebrates local production, artisanal techniques and the rich heritage associated with Provence’s fine lavender.

From 10.00 am to 6.00 pm, the museum’s audio-guided tour allows you to explore at your own pace the history of lavender, old distillation tools, the trades associated with lavender cultivation and Provençal traditions. A true immersion in the world of fine lavender, the emblem of the Luberon.

From 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and then from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm, visitors can watch the traditional distillation process. The distiller explains each stage of the process, from harvesting to the extraction of the essential oil, in a lively and authentic demonstration.

The highlight of the day: the doors to the organic skincare laboratory will be open to the public for this special occasion. During small-group tours at 11.00, 14.00, 15.00 and 16.00, visitors discover how organic cosmetics are made using fine lavender essential oil grown and distilled on the family estate. A unique opportunity to understand what ‘Made in France’ truly means, from field to bottle.

A number of introductory workshops are also on offer throughout the day:

• A sensory workshop from 10.00 am to 11.30 am and then from 2.00 pm to 3.15 pm, to recognise the scents of Provence, compare different fragrances and gain a better understanding of the link between aromatic plants, culture and perfumery.
• Lavender sachet workshop for children from 10.30 am to 5.00 pm, where the little ones can make their own scented sachets with the help of the museum team.
• Lavender plaiting workshop from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm with Patricia Bagnoli, to learn the traditional art of lavender plaiting and take home your own scented creation.
• Scented watercolour workshop from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm with Nathalie Maire, offering several sessions at 2.00 pm, 3.00 pm, 4.00 pm and 5.00 pm. A unique artistic experience where painting and fragrance come together.

For the occasion, all workshops are included in the admission ticket, except those led by external instructors: scented watercolour (€5 fee) and lavender spindles (€10 fee).

Two traditional guided tours are on offer at 11.30 am and 4.00 pm to explore the history of fine lavender, its distillation and the uses of this plant, which is emblematic of Provence.

Finally, an ice-cream van will be set up in the museum courtyard from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm, offering original flavours such as fine lavender, thyme, rosemary, rose and melon, for a tasty break between activities.
