Vivaldi, The Four Seasons
Thursday 23 May 2024 at 8 pm.
Event in Avignon :
Since the founding of Le Concert de la Loge in 2015, the classical ensemble seeks to re-enchant the concert experience and create a connection with the audience.
Far from the conventional codes, the ensemble seeks to rekindle spontaneity in the audience, to restore a spirit of shared joy in concerts, and to build bridges with the other arts.
Driven by the desire to bring a new dimension to Vivaldi's great "hit", Julien Chauvin integrates the narrative and theatrical content of the Four Seasons into his musical performance, making it a total sonorous and visual work entirely dedicated to serving the music. To amply the viewer's sensorial field while continuing to focus on the music, the well-known choreographer Mourad Merzouki leads the dance through the various movements of Vivaldi's four concertos, at the very heart of the instruments.
Taking this three-dimensional reading of the Four Seasons even further, director Coline Serreau seeks to express the dramatic and narrative tension. In her staging the musicians turn into actors and even opera singers in dialogue with the dancers. One way of giving full rein to the expressive potential of the instrumental music, and turning the concert into an augmented experience.
