Immerse yourself in the geological history of Mormoiron and learn about the industrial and traditional uses of gypsum, clay, sand and ochre, thanks to an informative and richly illustrated display. You’ll see samples of minerals, fossils, and processed products. Open April to September, every afternoon except Tuesday.

There is also a complete fossilised skeleton of a mammal (Paleotherium Magnum), dating back some 38 million years. You can also learn about the prehistory and archaeology of the Mormoiron Basin thanks to a variety of objects retrieved from the various digs in the town.
