Château Fontvert

The existence of the estate can be documented right back to 1598. For over three centuries, the soil has been cultivated by the same Huguenot family. The family has carefully maintained the land in accordance with the estate’s founding principles and traditions ever since. The estate extends over twenty hectares of organically farmed land which produce exceptional varieties of grape such as Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Vermentino and white Grenache. You can find out more about the world of vine and wine by taking part in a range of different activities, organised throughout the year: - Vineyard discovery trail : 2 circuits, each roughly 1.5 km, marked by explanatory panels about vine growing, the terroir and the flora and fauna of the Luberon region. Self-guided; free of charge . - Whitsunday (all day): winegrower’s picnic in grounds of château, along the shady banks of the Aiguebrun, punctuated by strolls through the vineyard, cellar tours, themed tasting sessions and a range of organized events. Free of charge . - The last Thursday in July (evening, from 5.30pm onwards): gastronomic and craft market attended by a large number of farmers and producers from the region (olive oil, foie gras, duck terrine, home-made ice-creams and pastries, tapenade and other Provençal specialist produce, cheese etc.) On site catering.
