"AND VAN GOGH CUT OFF HIS EAR! This is the story of a cohabitation between two geniuses that didn't end well. The final event, Van Gogh's severed ear, is well known to everyone. But how did he reach this level of despair, this insane gesture? A few weeks earlier, Gauguin had joined Vincent in Arles. The latter had been living there for several months, with a certain serenity and joy in his brush. The idea? To found an artists' home in Provence. The piece retraces these nine incandescent weeks. Condensed, of course, but with a real concern for faithfulness to the many known elements, as written under the expert watchful eye of David Haziot. Friendship, genius, frailties...
