Fontaine-de-Vaucluse
Temporary exhibition ‘Mémoire de feuilles’ by the artist Marine Guillemot
From 02/04 to 28/09/2026 on Monday, Thursday, Friday and weekends between 11 am and 1 pm and between 2 pm and 6 pm.
Event in Fontaine-de-Vaucluse :
Marine Guillemot, a botanical artist, transforms leaves and plants gathered from the Luberon countryside into exquisitely delicate papers. Short guided tours and meet-the-artist sessions are scheduled.
Inspired by an ancient Asian technique, she creates a living material, imbued with the memory of places and the rhythm of the seasons.
From her patient gestures—soaking, stirring, pressing, drying—emerge sheets of delicate structure, both fragile and resilient. In this alchemist’s craft, nature becomes art: revealed, transformed, shared.
The colours, derived from natural pigments – indigo, madder, woad, oak gall, pomegranate – illuminate her compositions with deep hues, evoking the earth and light of the South. Occasionally a touch of gold slips in, discreet yet precious, like a tribute to the richness of life.
Through her art, Marine Guillemot offers a sensitive encounter between creation and nature, where each leaf tells the story of the landscape from which it was born.
