Itinéraire moulins - Le Moulin Le Clos des Jeannons

A lovely shady loop walk starts just a few steps from the mill. The walk is 4 Km long, and is easy and ... as I said, shady ! An information sign at the parking lot describes the walk, and holds maps. The trail goes through the very special countryside in the Saint Pantaléon hills - this is rolling landscape with low areas primarily planted with olive trees. Along the path, I can see the different farm constructions built with the dry stone techniques, from the stones cleared from the fields. I see the stone walls which border the fields, and other stone walls which hold in the terraced fields, and of course the rounded sheds called "bories". As I reach Saint-Pantaléon, I go through more open country, where vineyards are grown and the perspective is wider. I see that the soil is beginning to be ochre-colored ...
I can easily observe the local architecture in the villages of Goult and Saint Pantaléon, and learn more about the tradition of growing crops on small terraced fields at the Conservatory at the top of the village of Goult.
