The coming-together of the master river Rhône and the capricious river Durance. A surprising stroll at the very tip of the confluence where you overlook these two phenomenal rivers from the top of the levies built by the Compagnie Nationale du Rhône
Here we are at the tip of the La Courtine industrial park and port area. Despite the industrial nature of the area, nature imposes itself, survives and conquers new spaces.
This landscape has been forged by the hand of man, for the Rhône was tamed by the CNR for hydroelectric production, shipping and agricultural needs.
Since the 1970's, when these installations were built, this space has learned to reconcile the different uses, the current and future challenges, while preserving environmental and landscaping priorities.
