Vaison-la-Romaine
Le Musée archéologique Théo Desplans
Tourist service in Vaison-la-Romaine :
This museum presents most of the sculptures found on the archaeological sites of Vaison. The 'Billet Pass' (ticket) enables visitors entry to the museum as well as the ancient site of Puymin, where the museum is located.
The museum offers an interesting insight into daily life in the Gallo-Roman era: where people lived, their religions, crafts, how they washed, the tools they used etc. The Voconces, a Celtic tribe, vanquished by the Romans during the 2nd century BC, became the Gallo-Roman peoples in the capital of Vasio. They have left behind countless vestiges of their existence, here on one of the most prestigious sites from Roman era in Provence.
