Le Jardin Remarquable du Château Val Joanis

The gardens adjoining the Château and wine-producing estate are open throughout the year but to enjoy the full visual and olfactory experience, it is advised to visit between April and October.
Château Val Joanis wine estate, located south of the Luberon Regional Natural Park, stands on the site of a former Roman villa. The formal gardens, designed in 1978, comprise orchards, vegetable patches and flower gardens. This typical Provencal garden also has olive groves, a central pond and a wide square courtyard. Tasting of estate wines and olive oil are also available in the estate shop.
Since 2005, the gardens have been ranked as "Outstanding Gardens" by the French Ministry of Culture and were awarded "Garden of the Year" in 2008 by the French Association of Horticulture and Garden journalists.
