The Fables by La Fontaine - Avignon Museums AVIGNON

Friday 1 June to Friday 30 November. Tuesday to Saturday 10 to 1pm and 2 to 6pm. The Museum Requien presents many of the taxidermied animals featured in the famous fables by Jean de La Fontaine. Gratuit.

The Fables by La Fontaine are often learned by heart by children, yet the moral of the story is a lesson for adults. The fact that the fables are based on animals adds to the lessons learned and enabled the authors to avoid political strife at the time, from the powers that be.

This exhibit displays several of the animals featured in the fables by Jean de La Fontaine, and historical works from the Requien Library.
