This Germanic program brings together three composers who forged close bonds of love and friendship. Before Clara Wieck married Robert Schumann, she had already drawn attention as a pianist and composer. Later, the youthful Brahms became their friend, showing them admiration and affection. The Overture, Scherzo and Finale by Schumann does not enjoy the same popularity as the symphonies and overtures, yet remains a vibrant orchestral ode. This work, with no slow rhythms, was considered a symphonic suite and was revised many times.

In 1835, Clara Wieck, who was only sixteen years old at the time, completed her Piano Concerto that she herself performed in public for the first time. Virtuosity and poetry overflow from this work, full of the spirit of chamber music and the elegant play between the soloist and the orchestra. Twenty-three years later, with influence and counsel from Clara, the youthful Johannes Brahms composed his Serenade n° 1, a joyous work with a bucolic atmosphere.
