The Consulate General in Marseille, under the impetus of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affaires and International Cooperation, are proposing, from 6 October to 31 December, in the Grand Audience Hall inside the Palace of the Popes, the exhibition by Maestro Giorgio Dante entitled "Darkness and Light" (Les ténèbres et la lumière).
This exhibit has been designed for a wide audience of all ages interested in discovering and exploring "The Divine Comedy" by the great poet Dante Alighieri. The 700th anniversary of his death is being celebrated this year. After the Bible, The Divine Comedy is the book that has been translated the most often throughout the world.

Giorgio Dante is a figurative painter borh in 1982, an artist in the pure tradition of great Italian realistic painting. With his project, he explores the long, difficult and laborious human journey from Hell to Paradise, the undertaking of all of Humanity, the journey of each man and woman.
Figures straight from Dante's work fill Maestro Giorgio Dante's paintings and are both lyrical and poetical, sometimes tragic, often full of fear before the great Mystery, and always expressing deep mysticism.

The exhibition also displays works of non-Dante inspiration which add to the artist's stylistic expression and illustrate his path.
