Event in Avignon :

Originally a private home, "full of atmosphere", a cornucopia", a "cabinet of curiosities"… Countless qualifiers describe the Palais du Roure yet none can completely sum up or capture the charm and interest of the place.

The Palais de Roure is a crossroads of several types of institutions (museum, library, documentation and archives centre, Historical Monument …). The venue is characterised above all by its spirit, its atmosphere, its soul, forged by its history and by the collections that result from its past.
The Palais du Roure is furnished and can be seen as a beautiful home where past owners still seem to be present.
Jeanne de Flandreysy (1874-1959), acquired the Palais du Roure in 1918, and she crystallized its identity, and bequeathed the Palais du Roure and its collections to the City of Avignon.
Jeanne de Flandreysy was very active and interested in many different fields. She brought together many collections on different themes, which are organised in a natural fashion in her former home.
