Displays in this Museum focus on the theme of basket-making and wickerwork, a semi-industrial and craft activity which was part of the daily life in the area. The Cadenet 'Musée de la Vannerie' is one of many eco-museums which describe contemporary economic activity. This Museum was built on the site of a former wicker-works workshop, known as 'la Glaneuse'. Here the public can learn about an activity which strongly influenced the history of this village community in the 19th and 20th centuries. Make an appointment for a guided visit, and explanation about the production of baskets, to visit the collections, and to see the audio-visual homage paid to the basket-makers. (Appointement for groups all year long).
