Le Marmiton - Ecole de cuisine de La Mirande
The region's top chefs invite the public to discover their delicious recipes. Designed for all comers, these cookery classes in a setting redolent with history are both fun and mouthwatering.
Classes are held in the old 19th-century kitchens, where for one week every month the chefs welcome small groups of participants around a big table, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Aprons, utensils and printed recipes are provided, and the classes end with a meal, served with wines chosen by the sommelier.
The classes, grouped by week, start at 9.30 am, end at 3 pm, and are followed by a tasting session, or sometimes a special afternoon or evening event.
The apprentice cooks can invite one or more guests of their choice to join them for lunch or dinner.
There are classes that include a visit to the market, pastry-making lessons, children's workshops, private customised cookery classes, and workshops on the culinary arts.
