As you leave Cavaillon, head in the direction of Coustellet to visit the Lavender Museum. Follow the road towards Apt where you may like to stop and visit the distillerie traditionnelle de lavande et lavandin les Coulets (The les Coulets traditional and hybrid lavender distillery) - (in season). Continue on to Lagarde Apt; and don't miss the organic Lavender 1100 farm en route!
By St Christol, the road runs through vast fields of lavender to Sault, here, you are in the heart of fine lavender country.
Not to be missed: la ferme aux lavandes (the lavender farm), a botanical garden with a large number of varieties; la distillerie des lavandes (the lavender distillery) or la distillerie du Vallon (the Vallon distillery) where you can see a demonstration with commentary (in season); the Aromatic Plant farms, la Maison des Producteurs where you will find all of the products made from the flowers, and a tour of the Brunarôme soap factory.
