Nature / Stunning natural spaces

The Luberon Regional Natural Park,
a Biosphere Reserve

The Luberon is a vast area with exceptionally varied flora and fauna, outstanding architectural heritage, and beautiful landscapes. The highest peak in the Luberon range is Mourre Nègre which reaches 1,125 meters altitude at the summit. Mourre Negre is one of the farthest upthrusts from the Alps. Here in the Luberon, the climate is mild and the vegetation green and full of vitality, perfect for hiking ! Much of the land is farmed – olive groves, vineyards and orchards shape the countryside. There are several farmers’ markets (called Marchés Paysans) on the town squares. The Luberon means a gentle, wonderful life style – hilltop villages with winding cobblestone streets, beautiful light, drystone architecture, châteaux and small towns.
