UNESCO has recognised the specificity and the natural diversity of the life forms here and have ranked Mont Ventoux as a Biosphere Reserve.

Mont Ventoux peaks at 1,912 meters altitude, and is an important site for scientific observation.
Legendary Mont Ventoux has a wide diversity of flora and fauna which have led it to be ranked as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
The landscapes also vary greatly, from the bald peak to Mediterranean and Alpine vegetation. Rare species such as the Greenland poppy and the pale-flowered orchid, and over 120 species of birds and large mammals – wild boar, fox, Corsican mountain sheep, chamois, red deer all thrive on Mont Ventoux.

The forests on Mont Ventoux are sites of many different activities. Mountain bikers, shepherds, hunters, athletes, scientists and mushroom lovers are all at home at Mont Serein.
The Mont Serein area lies at 1350 meters altitude. In winter, there is skiing, snowboarding and snow-shoeoing. In the summer, many activities for all ages, with hill karting, grass scooters, discovery trails, flora and fauna outings. Food service and accommodations on site.
