Slow Vaucluse: Provence in a magical way
"It has been decided! This time, you will discover Vaucluse at your own pace, far from the major roads. And what could be more fun than exploring the region in a different way, off the beaten tracks? We offer you all our ideas for a Slow Vaucluse stay!"
The charm of low speeds!
Here you can discover the joys of the holidays of the 50s/60s, when travels were real adventures: in a 2 CV, cyclo, Cox or a collection vehicle, put on your sunglasses, rest your arm on the windowsill, enjoy an open roof... the road is all yours!
4 convertible 2CVs, kept in perfect shape by Laurent, are available for the traveller who is looking for vintage drives.
A fleet of 9 cars with legendary names (Morgan, Austin Healey BI8, Cobra 289… ) to drive around Vaucluse like a star for the day. You could almost believe you are on the roads of the Côte d'Azur and next to a lavender field... Guaranteed to impress!
These ladybirds with open roofs are so beautiful, with such a distinctive engine sound! They await you for an unforgettable drive on the small roads of our region.
The route in an easy way!
You can use your calf muscles to discover the landscapes of Vaucluse... Yes, fear not! With the aid of an electric motor, the journey is easier. You will be completely relaxed! Tricycle, Segway, E-solex, electric tandem or scooter... You will be spoilt for choice.
"Take a trip as a couple, both on the road"... Vaucluse can be discovered with a partner, moving at the rhythm of your synchronised pedalling. Once you've found your rhythm, you can talk, and decide on the next stop. If the youngest will be surprised to see such a "bike", the older ones will look at it with a touch of nostalgia!
Urban Trott has had the great idea of opening a shop in l'Isle sur la Sorgue. There is no better way to visit this "Venice of Provence", along the canals, on the quays, in the small streets, or head to the Partage des Eaux and have a picnic... You can go anywhere, and park anywhere with no problems, for a break on the terrace or lunch by the water. The must: you can even add a child's seat to go on an adventure with the whole family.
People often think that it is difficult to control this vehicle. Absolutely not, you just need to find your balance, then lean forwards to go forwards and backwards to brake. The most daring, after getting control of the vehicle, will even be able to have fun going down stairs!
A unique way to discover the town, gliding along the streets.
Small boat style!
Yes, Vaucluse can also be discovered on the river, along the Rhône or the Sorgue
Board the Miréio, the Saône, or the Chardonnay for an excursion or a cruise along the Rhône and discover the region in a different way, with dinner cruises where the monuments (the Palais des Papes, the Pont St Bénézet, the ramparts of Avignon, the Tour Philippe Le Bel and the Fort St André de Villeneuve-lez-Avignon...) take on a new dimension.
Settle comfortably into a canoe (there are family canoes with 3 / 4 places), leave the land behind and wander, at your own pace, on the Sorgue between Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, the Rhône, the Durance... You will share your path with fish, ducks (especially at Fontaine de Vaucluse), wild birds, butterflies and dragonflies. A 100% nature trek which will be enjoyed by both young and old!
For when you're feeling peckish
Travelling makes you hungry! And Vaucluse is full of great places to fully experience the flavours of Provence. Our recommendations: those little restaurants that you find while wandering the village, with a unique atmosphere reminiscent of the restaurants of the past with their iron chairs and zinc tables...
