Here you find yourself on the Sault Plateau, in a vast open landscape shaped by the growth of small spelt crops and lavender.
From Aurel, the route is not very technical as it rolls along to Sault and its racecourse, the highest in France (alt. 800m), through woods and open spaces. An easy descent towards Monieux will bring you to one of the highlights of this long distance route: the Nesque River Canyons (les Gorges de la Nesque). The superb trail which climbs up to the Vaucluse mountains opens up to unforgettable views of the gorge, worthy of being known as one of the most beautiful canyons.
