The gardens adjoining Château and wine-producing estate are open throughout the year but to enjoy the full visual and olfactory experience, you're advised to visit between April to October. Price: €3. Under 16s go free.
The estate gardens and the wine-tasting cellar are open all week, from 10am to 1pm/2 to 7pm from 1st April to 31st October then Monday to Saturday from 10am to 12.30pm/2 to 5.30 pm the rest of the year. Open from 10am to 7pm every day in July and August.
Château Val Joanis wine estate, located south of the Luberon Regional Natural Park, stands on the site of a former Roman villa. The formal gardens, designed in 1978, comprise orchards, vegetable patches and flower gardens. This typical Provencal garden also has olive groves, a central pool and a wide square courtyard. Tasting of estate wines and olive oil in estate shop. Since 2005, the gardens have been ranked as "Outstanding Gardens" by the French Ministry of Culture and were awarded "Garden of the Year" in 2008 by the French Association of Horticulture and Garden journalists. The estate takes part in the annual "Rendez-Vous au Jardin" (Open Garden) event, held on the 3rd, 4th and 5th June 2016 (free entry on Fridays only)
