Tourist service in Goult :

Setting off from the mill, follow the country road to the south, which will lead you to the Conservatoire des Terrasses de Cultures de Goult. Before the rural exodus and the development of farming techniques, this site was used for growing crops; which explains why, dotted about on the hillside, you’ll see bories (stone huts), sheds, stepper staircases and a water tank, hollowed out of the rock. There are 5 ha of terraces or “restanques,”as they are called in Provençal, where crops were retained by stone walls (using stones extracted from the ground), thereby allowing the farmers to increase the size of their land. This kind of farming was very common in Provence from the 18th century onwards. Today, this site is still maintained and cared for, much to the delight of fans of rural, historical Provence. Free entry. Park in the village in Place de la Libération or Place St Pierre. Walk up to the village. Take the path from the mill, following the blue markers and educational panels
