Carpentras, capital of Comtat Venaissin, offers visitors the legacy of a rich history as seen by the presence of the Popes over several centuries. Located in the heart of rich agricultural plains and slopes of Mont Ventoux, the destination offers a thousand faces.
Inside the Tourist Information Office, there is an Espace Terroir, where you can discover, and buy, local produce and handicrafts from around Ventoux (such as strawberries in Spring and truffles in Winter). There is a permanent exhibition of Ventoux agricultural produce, with wines and a selection of other seasonal produce on sale. During events, you can meet the wine-makers at the 'Afterworks' evenings. This area is open all year round. Different opening times depending on month.
