Avignon Bridge

AVIGNON
from 3.50 € TTC

The Avignon Bridge was first built out of wood in the late 12th century, on top of old Roman foundations. It was then rebuilt in stone in the 13th century. Partially destroyed by raging flood waters of the Rhône, only 4 of the original 22 arches remain standing. After continued damage from Rhône River floods, the bridge was definitively abandoned for traffic in the 17th century. Visits of the bridge include an audio-guide in 9 languages. Free under 8 years old. The bridge is famous the world over due to the well-loved children's song. New space devoted to the song, with the history of the bridge and of the song told to all ages, fun interactive video and sound events, permanent exhibit. Full rates and discount rates.
